She was a street person, yet she never asked for money. She was requesting that everyone read the note she was holding in her palm. Someone finally stopped and read the note after 16 years. Then everything was different. This is what it says on paper.
An 80-year-old woman has a heartwarming tale to share with the world—one that does not, however, come to a joyful conclusion.
Wanda Ritter hasn’t slept in her own bed at home in 16 years. She continued to claim that “the government owed her $100,000 dollars” every day despite everyone’s belief that she was insane. No one noticed that she was carrying a suitcase full of paperwork and uncashed checks. Everyone believed that she was another madman.
Wanda had four kids and worked as a locksmith. She insisted repeatedly that the Social Security System owes her a sizable sum of money on the streets of Washington.
They said, “I was crazy to get rid of the luggage.””I told myself that people would think I was crazy if I did something stupid.”She continued.
But all changed when social worker Julie Turner, 56, heard her narrative and became interested in her case. She shook her head in shock as she examined the papers.
She required financial support, not mental health care.Turner brought up the $100,000 she owes the government.
But how did the woman understand the problem?
Wanda began receiving monthly payments ranging from $300 to $900. The woman returned the checks because she refused to cash them because she believed there was a problem with them, but Ritter called Social Security Services to inquire about the discrepancy.
Who would have believed me if I had gathered them and asserted that a mistake had been made?Ritter informed the local media that she thought she could solve the case once she had it under control.
Ritter was able to secure a $500 flat because to Julie Turner, a wonderful employee.
Ritter received her first $1,644 cheque from Social Security a week after the news went viral.
