Dolly Parton has accomplished pretty about everything in the music industry.
Nevertheless, the country music icon keeps challenging herself and expanding the scope of her brilliance.
It’s said that news that Dolly will soon release her debut rock album has fans everywhere thrilled! The 77-year-old was admitted into the Hollywood Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last year, a year after turning down the nomination on the grounds that she didn’t believe she “earned the right.”
It appears that Dolly wants to make sure that no one can tell that she doesn’t belong, even if she has finally been let inside. The rock record that Dolly had previously promised to release in honor of her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has a release date at last!
If stories are to be believed, Parton was first reluctant to talk about being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Jolene, a singer most known for her country music, was said to have thought that other people would be a better fit.
Ultimately, though, the electorate got its say and decided that Dolly actually belonged there. She got to work right away after being inducted into the Hall of Fame in November 2022 to make sure her nomination had been suitable.
Dolly has disclosed that “Rockstar,” the name of her upcoming rock album, will be published on November 17. This moves the album’s release date closer to reality.
There are supposedly thirty tracks on the CD, nine of which are original. The remaining 21 songs are fresh interpretations on songs popularized by the featured artist, as well as joint ventures with other musicians. Original versions of some songs, such as “Every Breath You Take” by Sting and “Wrecking Ball” by Dolly’s goddaughter Miley Cyrus, will be included on the album.
The album will feature appearances by Stevie Nicks, Steven Tyler, Sir Paul McCartney, Elton John, and other well-known guests.

Dolly earlier this year discussed her feelings about being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on The View:
“I just didn’t think I deserved it, but I decided to accept it if they insisted on giving it to me after hearing their explanation of my inclusion and everything.”
“But in order to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I have to do something,”
The full track list for the album is reportedly as follows:
“Rockstar” (with special guest Richie Sambora)
“The world is on fire.”
“Every Breath You Take,” with Sting; “Open Arms” (co-written with Steve Perry)
“Magic Man” (special guests Ann Wilson and Howard Leese)

Dolly stated in a statement, “It was a joy beyond measure to be able to sing all the iconic songs throughout the album. I am very honored and privileged to have worked with some of the greatest iconic singers and musicians of all time,” according to Billboard.
“I hope everyone enjoys listening to the album as much as I have enjoyed putting it together!”
I’m overjoyed to see Dolly, at seventy-seven, still making music and enjoying her work!
