In his clothing, Richard Gere always looks fantastic.
Whether he’s on TV or the red carpet, his impeccable suit and button-down shirt are easily identifiable. The silver fox has consistently wore the same fashionable attire throughout his 50-year reign.
Every day, the 75-year-old actor dons the same item of clothing: a straightforward Tibetan prayer band.
In 1999, Gere, who is a devout Buddhist, told the journal Lion’s Roar that although he first heard about Buddhism in school, his “first encounter with Buddhist dharma” occurred when he was twenty-one. Since then, he has been a Buddhist, which is why he usually wears his mala band, or prayer beads, on his wrist.

Like any other religious symbol, people wear mala bracelets to keep track of their mantras or prayers and to inform them of events during the day. Metal, wood, seeds, jewels, and other materials can all be used to make beads, and each has a specific function. The most common type of material for bracelets is sandalwood.
Gere has recently been spotted on television wearing his band, particularly on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on November 20 when he discussed his Thanksgiving plans for this year. He informed the audience that he would be in their new house in Spain with his family, which included his wife Alejandra Silva, who was born in Spain. People named him the Sexiest Man Alive for 1999.

“I was raised here for seven years by my Spanish wife,” Gere explains. “Therefore, we will live in Madrid for a few years with her family.” “Our children will succeed there because they speak multiple languages.”
In 2014, Gere and Silva first met at a hotel in Positano, Italy. In May 2018, they were married. Following that, they had two boys: James, now four, and Alexander, now five.
Silva, 41, and her ex-husband Govind Friedland have a kid named Albert. He is eleven years old. In 2000, Gere and his second wife, Carey Lowell, had their only child, Homer.
