It’s unbelievable that 16 years have gone by since we lost Steve Irwin.
The zookeeper changed the rules to reflect the way the world perceived dangerous animals. He was a pioneer in his field, and the world lost a truly admirable guy when he passed away at the young age of 44 while doing what he loved.
Now, about a decade later, his wife Terri Irwin has made an unexpected revelation: At one point, Steve confessed to her.
Terri Irwin’s conversation recently took an unexpected turn while she was interviewed for the Australian television program “Anh’s Brush With Fame.”
When the interviewer brought up Steve’s untimely death, Terri retorted, “He never thought he’d have a long life.” His life seemed to be coming to an end all the time.
Regretfully, Steve’s prediction came to pass. While filming “Ocean’s Deadliest” in Queensland, Australia, the adored TV personality was slain by the barb of a sting ray.
After the event, Terri was told to get in touch with her zoo manager. She recalls the day she found out about her husband’s passing.
“This overwhelming sense of obligation and grief is all I can remember, but what should I do next? I had to collect myself before I could go out to the car and tell Robert and Bindi, which was really tough.
Terri Irwin admits that she was rendered dumbfounded by the overwhelming level of support she received upon the news of Steve’s death.
“No one would have been more surprised than Steve by the outpouring of love and grief,” she said.
The word “famous” didn’t seem to come to mind for Steve. I am immensely pleased that we have dedicated all of our efforts to wildlife and conservation. I also liked that he was never conceited or ostentatious.
Media outlets quickly spread the word about Steve’s passing all across the world. Millions of people were left to mourn the national treasure, who was known for his unshakable commitment to furthering our awareness and knowledge of animals of all kinds.
The world may change, but we will never forget Steve Irwin.
