On the Britain’s Got Talent stage, a small youngster who was just above the microphone stand opened his mouth to sing. What came forth was a passion that could fill a symphony hall, not just a voice. In addition to being superb, his rendition of Julie London’s “Cry Me A River” was unsettling. The judges’ mouths nearly touched the ground in shock. “This boy is only TWELVE years old!” even Simon said, his eyes wide and frightened. That’s when the whole room blew up.
No one anticipated that a child would harbor such suffering and soul. He was twelve, courageous, and unforgettable, but there he was. When Ellis Chick took the stage for the second time during the semi-finals of this season’s “Britain’s Got Talent,” a new star was born.

For his second performance, Ellis wore a well-made tuxedo with jacket cuffs and bedazzled lapels. As he took the stage, his big smile and gelled, spiky hair exuded confidence.
Ellis chose the song “Cry Me a River” by Julie London as his selection for the evening. Ellis’s enormous voice erupted into the microphone right away, and he continued to sing with conviction the entire time.

All four judges commended Ellis for his exceptional rendition at the conclusion of his performance. They reminded him that his job was to entertain, and they praised his theatrical appearance.
The challenging task of evaluating Ellis originally fell to Alesha Dixon. She critiqued his lack of range because he started the song at such a high level and ended it in roughly the same place, even if she praised his confidence and strong voice.

Amanda Holden, though, concurred with Dixon. Ellis has the potential to develop a song to a crescendo and enhance his delivery, according to both women.
Simon Cowell, who was surprisingly quick to defend Ellis, pointed out that he was only twelve years old and that technique will improve with time and experience.
Comedian David Walliams, who Cowell implied resembled Ellis, continued the response with more of the same. He thinks Ellis has what it takes to be a successful entertainer. Everyone applauded, and Ellis continued to follow his singing ambitions.
