Disassembling and reassembling items to give them new life has always been Campbell’s passion. His initial goal was to build a home out of abandoned cargo jets. However, after learning that a hairdresser from Mississippi named Joanne Ussery had already turned a Boeing 727 into a home, he had second thoughts.

After her house was destroyed by fire, Ussery chose to live in a plane parked near a river, which inspired Campbell to make improvements to his first proposal.
