Jennifer Garner went above and beyond with a touching gesture that would warm even the coldest hearts when it seemed like she could do little more to win over fans around the world.
According to reports, the 51-year-old was in a parking lot in Santa Monica Beach, California, when she noticed a homeless man in a wheelchair.
It is simple to understand why most other A-list celebrities would have simply gotten into their cars and left. But the background of Jennifer Garner is different.
Because Jennifer Garner consistently shows that she is a decent, grounded person in her profession, we all know and love her.
Whether it’s keeping her family’s farm to preserve her heritage, trying her hardest to normalize postpartum baby bumps, or simply demonstrating that wrinkles and folds are normal as you age, the Elektra star has a past that sets her apart from most of her illustrious contemporaries.
Garner only made news last week when she gave her father a ride in the car he used as a kid to commemorate his 85th birthday. Her name is now circulating again, but this time it’s for an action that exemplifies her kindness and altruism.
Gardner was at a Santa Monica Beach parking lot earlier this week when she reportedly spotted a homeless man who was obviously in need of help.
According to reports, the actress spoke to the poor stranger by lowering the window of her automobile. In addition to giving the man in a wheelchair a backpack full of essentials, she was thoughtful enough to notice that he was barefoot.
Upon noticing this, Garner got out of her car, knelt by the man, and began dressing his feet in socks.
Unsatisfied, the 13 Going on 30 actress attempted to give the man the shoes by taking them off of her own feet.
Garner continued, approaching a paparazzo who was after her to ask if he could help, even though it soon became apparent that the shoes were too small.
“What size feet do you have?” she said, as described on Page Six. Can I get your shoes for him? He has to get some sneakers.
Garner responded that the homeless man was “10 and a half” when the photographer asked how big he was.
“Oh, I’m eleven! Would you like me to present it to him? “I might give it to him,” the paparazzo remarked. The photographer, to his credit, was happy to go with his shoes and refused to take money from Garner.
Of course, Garner’s generosity is probably not surprising to anyone who has followed her life and career closely. The actress has long been an advocate for helping children in need, having joined Save the Children more than a decade ago.
“Even though I didn’t grow up in poverty, I was surrounded by it and I always said I was a generation and a holler removed from rural poverty,” she previously told Southern Living.
And I discovered Save the Children after looking. Because they are without a doubt leading the way in helping children in rural America.
