The Robinson family bought a distant house with the intention of starting a farm there.
Mrs. Robinson gave birth to her second child, a male, in less than four months. As soon as they moved into the new house, they started organizing the child’s room in preparation for the new family member’s arrival.
The Robinsons were avid animal lovers, and since their landlord prohibited them from owning a dog, they now desire a minimum of one puppy.
The two wives took their 6-year-old child, Matias, to an animal shelter where they made their canine selection. They hoped the dog would grow up with the farm’s children and be non-aggressive.
After viewing the paddocks and listening to the heartbreaking stories of several dogs, they were at a loss on which puppy to select.
At the end of their tour, they said farewell to 4-year-old pit bull Benson. He stood back, head bowed, tail between his knees, as if he had lost all faith in humanity.
Benson had a very terrible existence, the animal shelter volunteers told the Robinson family when they were asked about his past. He was abandoned on the streets until volunteers found him after he had been used in dog fights. After spending some time at the shelter, a couple adopted Benson, but he was sent back to the shelter after just two weeks because of aggressive behavior against his owners.

In a haste, he was brought to a nearby hospital where doctors quickly started CPR. The doctor told the parents that if the baby had remained in cardiorespiratory arrest for more than thirty minutes, he would have died.
Benson became well-known for proving that nothing happens by accident. The Robinson family spared Benson, a dog who no one gave a chance to, and he eventually saved their baby.
