Longtime Soap Star Of ‘One Life To Live’ And ‘Young And The Restless’ Dies At 66

The character Tina Lord, played by Andrea Evans on the daytime serial series “One Life to Live,” is widely known. Other notable credits include “Passions,” “DeVanity,” “Low Down Dirty Shame,” “The Bold and the Beautiful,” “The Bay,” “Ice Cream Man,” and “Hit List.”

Evans unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the age of 66. IMDb listed breast cancer as the cause of her death. “I’ve been working with Andrea for the past seven years,” her manager, Nick Leicht, declared in front of the public. She has such incredible talent and was a real pleasure to work with.

After learning of Evans’s loss, a number of her well-known acquaintances and former co-stars shared moving tributes on social media. “I’m sad to hear about Andrea Evans’ passing,” tweeted Frank Valentini, a former executive producer of “One Life to Live.” Andrea was already a huge star when my career at OLTL began. She was incredibly friendly and nice, and always a pleasure to work with. A modern-day legend who will be sadly missed. My sympathies are with her friends and family.

Kassie DePavia wrote on Facebook, “I’m very sorry to hear of the passing of this talented actress.” She helped raise public awareness of OLTL. Cancer is terrible!

Actor Eric Martsolf also shared on Facebook, saying, “We lost Andrea Evans.” She was incredibly responsible and showed me that working during the day doesn’t have to feel like labor at all. Her eyes were always bright, and I will miss that. She seemed to grin all the time. Andrea, I appreciate everything you’ve done. I hope you find peace.

Evans began appearing on “One Life to Live” in 1979, and she portrayed Tina until her abrupt exit in the 1990s. She was among the most often requested characters to return to the show, and in 2008, her wish was granted.
