Despite being divorced, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s legal issues are still widely reported. You’re undoubtedly aware of the current legal dispute between these A-list celebrities around the sale of the French winery they jointly owned. Recent court filings, however, have made Jolie’s startling claims about Pitt’s alleged physical abuse of her public knowledge.
Pitt filed a lawsuit against Jolie and her previous firm in 2022, alleging that her sale of her share of the winery without his consent put his carefully constructed company in jeopardy. Jolie responded with even more severe charges, claiming that in 2016, just before their divorce, Pitt had physically abused her on a plane. She further asserted that he had shown abusive behavior toward at two of their children.
According to recent allegations, the physical abuse may have started sooner than originally thought. This plane ride was the first occasion, per court filings, that Pitt physically abused their kids. After the incident, Jolie made the decision to leave him right away.
Pitt has always insisted he is innocent, but Jolie has now charged him with attempting to “bleed her dry.” She asserts in court filings that Pitt’s case against her is an additional effort to subjugate and deprive her of money. She further claims that in order to conceal his past of abuse, Pitt insisted on signing a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
According to people close to Pitt, he has supported Jolie and shown her financial generosity despite her accusations. They imply that Pitt is not trying to bankrupt Jolie and that her accusations are spiteful.
This legal dispute is still pending, with opposing arguments being made on both sides. It is significant to remember, though, that during a drawn-out custody trial, a judge awarded Pitt 50/50 custody of their children in spite of the accusations.
