The 28th Rosalynn Carter Georgia Mental Health Forum guests heard from Jason Carter, their grandson, regarding Jimmy Carter’s health.
“My grandfather is doing well. He has been receiving hospice care for approximately a year and a half, as you are aware. According to The Hill, Jason stated, “And I think he is getting close to the end.”
As his nephew gives us an update, we are keeping Jimmy Carter in our prayers. After numerous hospital trips, the 39th president decided to transition into hospice care, according to a statement from The Carter Center.
“As I’ve said before, there’s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him,” he continued. There’s a component of the faith journey you can only fully experience at the very end, and I think he was there.
Jason recalled seeing an Atlanta Braves game with his grandfather a few weeks ago. “Papa, you know, I just can’t—I say I don’t know when people ask how I’m doing,” I said. He said, “Well, I don’t know myself.” Thus, he stays there.
Exactly one year after the beloved former president’s wife went into hospice care, Carter’s family released their first update following her death.
Three months after the beloved wife Rosalyn passed away in November, Jimmy’s grandson made the remarks on CBS Sunday Morning.
