In addition to having a prosperous Hollywood career, Jennifer Garner has maintained her strong relationship with her parents.
The actress announced her father’s loss on social media on Monday. He was 85 years old, which was pretty ancient.
Jennifer Gardner’s father was William John Garner. This man, who was he?
William John “Billy” Garner attended Texas A&M University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering in 1961 and a master’s degree in the same field in 1976, according to KBTX News 3.hip.

Melissa Garner Wylie, Susannah Kay Garner Carpenter, and Jennifer Garner were all raised by Stephen Garner.
Their mother, Pat Garner, was his wife for over sixty years.
On January 1, 2024, Jennifer commemorated her parents’ 59th wedding anniversary with a blog entry.
“Happy 59th anniversary of marriage to my amazing and loving parents!” The woman went on, “Thank you, Mom and Dad, for ensuring that my sisters and I had a happy and safe childhood.”
She was raised in Charleston, West Virginia, after being born in Texas.
William was a chemical engineer with Union Carbide, according to the Hindustan Times.
William John Garner’s killer?
“On Saturday afternoon, my dad passed away peacefully.” As he was leaving, we all sang “Amazing Grace.” Did we frighten him away, or were we able to win him over? That is a valid query. The woman went on, “I know that grief is inevitable and can arise at any time, but it is not a tragedy when an 85-year-old man who led a healthy, happy life passes away.”
She declared, “Today is a day to express gratitude.”

“We are grateful for Dad’s gentle nature and quiet strength.” For the way he winked gently and played the totally committed, always-forgiving girl father. He has a strong work ethic, is a devoted man, and is a skilled leader.
Jennifer did, however, mention that William received care at City of Hope and Charleston Area Medical Center. She remained silent on William’s demise.
“We express our gratitude to the medical staffs at City of Hope and Charleston Area Medical Center.” Your kind care extended Dad’s life and allowed him more time to enjoy his favorite activities, which included boat maintenance, watching his beloved Aggies play sports, and most importantly, spending time with our mother, his 59-year-wife.
Please be patient with my sisters and me; we will never stop raving about how amazing my dad was. For the time being, I’m sharing these memories to express my gratitude for the incredible legacy he left behind and for the kind, wise guy who was a father and a grandfather.

Jennifer Garner’s mother is Patricia Ann Garner. Who is she?
Patricia talks to Southern Living about her family history. Locust Grove, Oklahoma, was not far from the farm where she was raised.
The farm was purchased by Harvey Newton English and Violet Margaret Sayre English in 1936, at the height of the Great Depression. Although Patricia’s parents moved there two years prior to her birth, she was born in 1938.
