The Spanish royalty and all you need to know about them

The media closely monitors the activities of royal families due to their ongoing media attention and people’s curiosity about their lifestyles. This is one of the reasons why the members of these families are often featured in the headlines of high-end periodicals.

If you think the British Royal Family has gone through a lot lately, you should be aware that all monarchy goes through personal challenges, regardless of their level of riches and recognition.

In 2014, Spain gained a new monarch. Prince Felipe was declared the heir apparent when King Juan Carlos abdicated amid multiple scandals. When the former king was involved in a corruption investigation, his reputation took a serious hit. Soon after, in 2012, he embarked on an elephant hunting expedition to Botswana, which greatly outraged the Spanish people. In 2014, King Juan Carlos decided to step down and hand the monarchy over to Prince Felipe.

Because kingdoms were then passed down by male bloodline, Felipe became the head of a monarchy despite having two older sisters. It is now evident that King Felipe’s older daughter is the heir because this regulation has been changed.

King Felipe is a popular man in his own kingdom, but there have also been reports that he was ready to abdicate for love.

King Felipe grew up at a really interesting time. He had numerous chances to travel with his family, and he gained a wealth of knowledge about various countries and civilizations. He continued his education at the Lakefield College School in Ontario, Canada, in 1984 and 1985. Before going back home, he had finished his three years of military training in Spain’s armed forces academy. King Felipe completed this training, earning a law degree from Madrid and a master’s in international affairs from Georgetown University in Washington, DC.

He has worked very hard to provide the best treatment he can for his people. Felipe competed in the Summer Olympics in Barcelona as a sailor and flag bearer for his country.

At the time he was doing all of this, Letizia Ortiz Rocasolano, the woman who would become his wife, worked as a journalist. She received two degrees upon graduating: a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Complutense University of Madrid and a master’s degree in audiovisual journalism from the Institute for Audiovisual Journalism Studies. Letizia gained notoriety and became a beloved character in Spain. She anchors Telediario’s nightly news and covered the US presidential race in 2000.

She has had a very prosperous career in her field generally since she first met the future king.

Felipe reportedly desired to see Letizia in person and was able to do so through a mutual friend who works as a journalist. It took them a few months after she gave him her number to start dating.

They kept their relationship a secret for a while, but once they were spotted having fun together in Felipe’s Mallorcan palace, everyone knew.

In 2003, they announced their engagement.

However, there were rumors that Felipe’s father wasn’t happy with the collaboration. Letizia was a divorcee and had no royal ancestry. Sources from the period claim that Juan Carlos referred to his future daughter-in-law as “the enemy within.” He counseled his son to think carefully and give the engagement a year’s notice.

But Felipe was willing to do whatever it took to marry Letizia.

“Felipe went to his father to ask permission to marry with a letter renouncing his right to the throne in his pocket,” a member of a different Royal family told Vanity Fair.

He also showed his father the letter, and his father suggested that he wait a year or so before dating her.

Felipe’s mother informed Juan Carlos, “You have no choice.” Failure to submit will result in the downfall of the monarchy.

Their combined children are Leonor and Sophia, the two stunning daughters of King Felipe and Queen Letizia.

The family does its best to lead a normal life. The queen, Letizia, is devoted to helping children in Spain receive an education, while the king gives his all to serve the people to the best advantage. She also offers support to children with rare diseases.

This family’s members are quite proud of them for their conventional lifestyle and modest manner of living.
