Reportedly, Barbra Streisand—a stalwart of the Hollywood glitterati—went too far in her recent online defense of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, saying that Willis was the victim of a conservative plot to undermine her public life by using her as a prop.
In an X post, the singer and actress asserted that Willis’s only transgression is wanting a personal relationship with Nathan Wade, the assistant lawyer she hired to investigate Trump and the other eighteen defendants they have charged with racketeering related to Georgia’s 2020 election results.
“What a ridiculous desire to fire Fani Willis exists among the Republicans. For what reason? thinking that a woman can’t pursue a career and a personal life at the same time? Men do it all the time! How ridiculous is this circumstance? on Monday, Streisand stated.
“Trump and his allies are abusing Willis, the District Attorney, who is filing charges against him for attempting to influence the outcome of Georgia’s election. She has a private relationship with one of the prosecutors. This has nothing to do with the facts of the case or Trump’s obvious attempt to coerce the Secretary of State into “finding” more votes for him and presenting phony electors to Congress. It’s just another of Trump’s diversionary tactics,” she went on.
