Donald Trump said that “God alone” had spared his life from an attempted assassination and urged Americans to unite against political violence.
Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump voiced reservations about Joe Biden’s eligibility for office after Biden withdrew from the race. At his Milwaukee speech at the Republican National Convention, Trump passionately defended his candidacy for president.
With a bandage covering his right ear from an attempted assassination during a rally, Trump entered the arena to chants of “USA, USA” as the national anthem, “God Bless America,” started to play. In his speech, he declared his desire to lead all of America, not just a select few.
“Winning for half of America is not a victory, which is why I am a presidential candidate for the entire nation, not just the northern half. Therefore, with trust and commitment, I humbly accept your nomination for president of the United States of America today,” Trump declared.
Furthermore, Trump discussed his harrowing escape from the attempted assassination and asserted that paranormal activity was the cause. He thanked the American people for their support and vowed to complete his task.
The presidential candidate declared that peace and an end to political persecution were necessary, and that the Democratic Party’s attacks on him should cease. Trump has stated unequivocally that only he is capable of protecting democracy for the American people.
With Trump presenting himself as the head of state, the Republicans seem to be gaining ground, while Democrats are still pushing for President Biden to withdraw from the race.
