Despite her health concerns, her family will always cherish the moment she overcame to graduate and walk across the stage. That was a big day since Sienna passed out out of the blue. Thankfully, paramedics arrived swiftly to provide assistance. When she regained consciousness, she cried and insisted on finishing her walk across the stage. The trip Sienna had taken had been marked by resilience. After receiving a life-saving heart transplant when she was four years old, her life was essentially normal for the following ten years. However, earlier this year she began to decline and weaken. Sienna’s mother, Saevon Chum, disclosed that her daughter occasionally had spells of collapse, and unfortunately, it happened on her graduation day. As Sienna was falling, the high school principal could be heard pleading for everyone’s patience. In an interview with Fox5Atlanta, Sienna’s mother claimed that “the ambulance was already there when I got there.” She was unconscious. She had gone through another ordeal. That being said, this was the first time she fainted. Despite her fear, Sienna was determined to cross the stage rather than to the hospital. She pleaded with her mother to allow her to graduate and pursue her lifelong ambitions. As the last student of the day, Sienna received a standing ovation from her classmates and everyone in attendance when she accepted her diploma. She could only say, “I just want to walk and graduate,” to me. All she wanted was that; she had already missed her prom. Saevon claims that because she was in the hospital before her senior prom, she missed it. Sadly, just a few weeks after having her graduation moment of glory, Sienna passed away. Her mother spoke loudly, “As a mom, you feel so proud because she just fought through something that hurts her.” You should be proud of yourself. I was proud all the way to the finish. Sienna had high hopes for the future. Her obituary stated that she had intended to start college the following fall in order to pursue a career in ultrasound technology. Let’s pay tribute to Sienna Stewart’s courage and steadfast spirit during her short but meaningful life. She is sleeping in peace.
