Barbra Streisand, the renowned singer and actress, has a history of controversy. Even at 81 years old, she doesn’t hesitate to speak out against things that she believes pose a threat to democracy.

But Streisand has made equally dramatic statements in the past. She vowed to leave the nation, like with many other celebrities, after Trump’s victory in 2016. She joked at the time, “America was great – before you were elected.”

She sincerely believes that by forcing society to confront harsh truths, artists serve as a nation’s conscience. Streisand boldly declares, “That is why art is the enemy of tyrants and dictators.”
