In an engaging interview with Human Events’ Jack Posobiec, Michael Cassidy, the brave Christian veteran who recently destroyed the Satanic Temples’ statue of Baphomet at the Iowa State Capitol, urged his fellow Americans to reconsider their cultural values and reject the influence of Satan.
Cassidy’s call to action stems from his discomfort over the unsettling reception he has received. Surprisingly, he has been inundated with hate letters from individuals who either support Satanism or do not acknowledge the evil associated with Satan and the impropriety of displaying sculptures of him in public places.
In reaction to this mixed response, Cassidy said, “I’ve received both positive and negative feedback, which has been quite remarkable.” A few anonymous individuals have lamented the degradation of our civilization and complimented my strong opposition to Satanism. That has proven to be encouraging in and of itself.
But when it came to talking about the disturbing blowback he’s received because of his behavior, Cassidy did not hold back. He said, “I’ve also received a lot of hate mail from Satanists and their supporters. It’s amazing; by “hate mail,” I mean insulting messages sent by fake Facebook pages and trolls on Twitter.
When Cassidy described a letter he received from an enraged father in Iowa who was outraged that he could no longer give his daughter the satanic idol, he gave a particularly poignant example. Cassidy said, “I received a message from a father who was upset that the statue was gone.” He had planned to show his daughter the Satan monument that day.
Cassidy insists that this is a very significant topic. He makes the case that icons and idols should be kept out of sight since their appearance in public places might have significant consequences. “People must realize the significant influence these icons can have on our culture,” he declared.
Reiterating his simple yet heartfelt message, Cassidy concluded his interview by saying, “I want people to reject Satan and embrace Jesus Christ.” This should be the primary lesson learned. It is sad to see someone wanting to expose children to such depravity.
Throughout the conversation, Cassidy underlined how important it is to shape the perspectives of the future generation, stating, “We must always focus on children because they are impressionable.” If you can influence children while they are young and instill certain ideas in them, they will carry your principles with them throughout their lives.
In a world when morals are regularly questioned, Michael Cassidy’s unwavering dedication to his faith serves as a powerful reminder to all Americans to consider their beliefs and the impact they have on the future of our society.
