Dr. Kimberly Nix, a well-known Canadian, died three years after discovering she had metastatic sarcoma.
Dr. Nix gained notoriety for her posts on TikTok and Instagram chronicling her battle with cancer. She announced her death to her admirers on social media on May 8, 2013, by posting her last video.

According to the Mayo Clinic, the term “sarcoma” is used to refer to a class of cancers that start in soft tissues like muscles, fat, blood vessels, nerves, and tendons in addition to bones. A cancer that has spread to stage 4 and moved too far from its original location is referred to as metastatic.
Dr. Nix was seen filming a “get ready with me” video while seated on the bathroom floor in her most recent nine-minute video.
She began the TikTok with the words, “Hello followers, if you’re seeing this message, I have died peacefully.” “Hello, if we haven’t met before, I’m Kim. In the movie, Dr. Nix thought back on her experiences in life, such as going to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, while doing makeup. Nix made excellent academic progress as well. When she was diagnosed, she was 28 years old and in her final year of an internal medicine core residency.
“I lived a lovely life,” she said to the group. “I feel so successful,”
Dr. Nix begins to cry in the middle of the film when she recalls divorcing her husband, whom she had called the “love of her life.”
The only thing that grieves me about dying in the most amazing love is that we never got to grow old together. “Everything else can wait; that is the only thing that really matters.”
At the end of the video, she asked her viewers to donate to the Sarcoma Alliance. The charity’s website states that its mission is to “improve the lives of people affected by sarcoma through accurate diagnosis, improved access to care, guidance, education, and support.”
