After years of retirement, 94-year-old Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, created a breathtaking public presence. Underneath his gray cargo pants was an eco-gray button-down shirt that Hackman added to his ensemble. He finished the appearance with sunglasses and a cap.
Hackman was still able to move around, but he needed assistance. He used his spouse’s help in one hand and a cane in the other. The outing was noteworthy because it was the couple’s first public appearance together in almost 20 years.

Remarks such as “It was sad to see him get older” were made. “That doesn’t look like him one particular little bit,” muttered something else. “I like him,” and “That seems to be almost nothing like #genehackman.” Upon pointing out his remarkably advanced age, she remarked, “I never ever would’ve acknowledged him.” Regarding his weakness, one reviewer said, “It seems like the wind could take him away.”
