They posed while holding hands. He smiled as he looked down at his new bride.
At first, folks simply walked by and stared.
However, people became increasingly furious as the trial went on.
Enraged people approached the two and confronted the man.
One of the women said the youngster was too young and asked where the girl’s mother was.
Some stopped, saying things like “this is crazy,” “you’re a sick pervert,” “this isn’t right,” and “it’s illegal.”
One woman even dragged the girl away from the man after deciding to take matters into her own hands.
There was a tangible tension in the air that seemed ready to blow out.
In New York City, it was considered improper for a young girl to marry an older man. No one should tolerate this anywhere!
