NFL Reporter Mourns Passing of Two-Year-Old Daughter After Cancer Battle

Tragic news has emerged from the NFL community as well-known NFL writer Doug Kyed shares the news of his two-year-old daughter’s death. Tiny Hallie Kyed sadly passed away in January 2021 following a nine-month battle with leukemia.

The journey was difficult for Hallie and her family. In April 2023, Hallie was diagnosed with leukemia, which completely altered their lives. Hallie fought valiantly and shown remarkable strength for her age. However, she had another recurrence after her condition worsened after receiving a bone marrow transplant.

On Sunday morning, Hallie passed away peacefully in her sleep while her parents, Doug and Jen, held her hands. After losing their beloved daughter, they are completely lost and distraught. Doug expressed the profound impact Hallie had on their life by saying, “Our lives will never be the same.”

In a previous post, Doug discussed their determination to maintain optimism throughout the difficult journey. Since Hallie had overcome every obstacle that acute myeloid leukemia had thrown at her, they were sure she could pass the most challenging test. Although the prognosis remained bleak, the family was able to spend crucial time with Hallie at the hospital last week.

Acute myeloid leukemia, a cancer that starts in the bone marrow and quickly spreads to the blood, lymph nodes, liver, spleen, and central nervous system, presented Hallie with challenging challenges. Despite this, Doug and Jen spent several nights at Boston’s Children Hospital, offering unwavering care and support.

Jen, Doug’s wife, claimed that after Hallie passed away, she felt as though she had a hole in her heart. After the devastating loss, they are left to question how such a horrible incident could happen. As they mourn their cherished daughter, the NFL community joins them in sending their sincerest condolences.
