Fans got to glimpse a new side of Irish actor Pierce Brosnan, who is most renowned for flaunting his thick beard and an abundance of gray hair, as he got ready for one of his next movies.
Fans nearly missed the “Die Another Day” actor’s Instagram photo of himself posing as well-known boxing trainer Brendan Ingle. In addition to wearing round glasses, Brosnan had shaved off all of his facial hair and had much thinner hair.
The actor is currently working on the film “Giant,” which follows boxer Prince Naseem’s incredible rise from poverty to fame and stars Brosnan as his well-known trainer.
Fans expressed their disbelief at the shift and their excitement for the biopic in the comment section. “I almost didn’t recognize you without all your lovely hair,” one Instagram user commented. Not everyone who used the internet knew that Brosnan was involved. Another commentator continued, saying, “He’s aged out.”
Not all of the comments, though, were critical; several viewers expressed curiosity in Brosnan’s portrayal of the well-known boxing coach. “I’d like to see this fascinating film you’re showing soon,” an admirer posted online.
One person enthusiastically said, “You rock in everything you do, Pierce,” while another person could only think of the term “class” to sum up Brosnan’s abilities.
Recently, the “Mamma Mia!” star was spotted on the Leeds-based movie’s set. Brosnan was wearing an Adidas sweatshirt and a blue tracksuit, which made him appear very goofy. He completed the look with a clear-framed pair of sunglasses and a black cap, adding the trainer’s distinctive twist.
On the site, the actor was spotted meeting up with Ingle’s sons, John and Dominic, as well as his grandson, Luca, who were all brought to observe the movie being filmed.
According to reports, the family reviewed the script and provided input on how Ingle’s role was written. The trainer had a record-breaking career as a boxer and trainer before passing away in 2018 at the age of 77.
After finishing his career as a competitor with a 19–14 record in 34 fights, Ingle became a well-known trainer and manager. His footwork drills at the Sheffield gym made him famous.
At the age of seven, the sports champion started coaching Naseem, and the two of them broke records set by previous champions. Later, Ingle was awarded an MBE for his commitment to working with youth and their participation in British boxing.
The trainer lectured at Sheffield Hallam University, where he was awarded an honorary doctorate. Rowan Athale will direct and Sylvester Stallone will produce the highly anticipated movie.
Pierce Brosnan may have to shave his beard for the duration of the play, but Keely Shaye Smith, his wife, may be appreciating the clean-shaven look. The actor claimed to have grown out his beard even more for his role in “The Son” in a 2018 interview with GQ.
The actor was prepared to part with his beard, though, because it was long enough for him to wear in a small braid for the television program. “She tolerates it and she puts up with it, but she wants her Irish boy Pierce back again, not some old goat,” he said in response to a question about his wife’s feelings on his Texas cowboy image.
Smith might have been used to her husband’s multiple guises by now, considering his impressive resume and his desire to portray interesting roles in the future.
