An interrupted audition on “America’s Got Talent” could have been a catastrophe, but a 12-year-old girl from Easley, South Carolina, made it an experience that the judges and audience would never forget. Judge Simon Cowell abruptly interrupts Ansley as she starts to perform Aretha Franklin’s “Think,” calling the background music “horrible, horrible.”
Cowell gives it some thought before recommending that Ansley perform without any musical support. Despite her first surprise, she consents, even taking a sip of what is sarcastically called “magic water” from Cowell’s cup. She receives great praise from the judges and crowd.
Ansley starts singing the song with the grace and talent of an experienced pro, full of confidence.
All four judges are impressed by her performance, giving her unanimous “yes” votes and guaranteeing her a spot in the following round.
