A man stumbles upon a wallet containing $700. What happens next, just a few days later, will surprise you…

A man finds $700 in a bag. After a few days, he finds a letter that says a rich man lost his wallet and there is a $50 prize for finding it. After some time, the man finds the owner and returns the wallet. The rich man then says, “I see you’ve already taken your reward.” The poor man is confused and asks, “What do you mean?” The rich man says, “This wallet had $750 in it when I lost it.”

The two men agree to go to court to settle the matter after some back and forth.

Following the poor man’s case, the rich man talks and says, “Your Honor, I trust you, and you trust me.” The judge agrees and says, “Of course.”

The poor man is scared, and the rich man is smiling. “Of course you’re honest,” the judge says after giving the poor man the wallet. “If you say that your wallet had $750, I believe you.” But this wallet must belong to someone else, since the man who found it wouldn’t have given it back if he was a thief or a liar. The person who found the money owns it until the real owner comes forward.

The rich man says, “What about my money?”

The judge says, “We’ll just have to wait until your wallet with the $750 is found.”
