Liam Payne saw Niall Horan perform in Buenos Aires on October 3, just a few weeks before he was found dead after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room in the trendy Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires.

Horan writes on Instagram, along with a cute old picture of the two of them from their time in One Direction, “I’m absolutely devastated about the death of my amazing friend, Liam.” “It doesn’t seem real at all.”

When Payne, 31, who became famous around the world with the boy band One Direction, was found dead on October 16, fans of the band sent him lots of sympathy.

While reporters and upset fans gathered outside the Casa Sur Hotel, investigators were gathering evidence to try to figure out why Payne died so suddenly.

Coroners apparently found 25 injuries with internal and external bleeding that were consistent with those caused by a fall from a height. Five of these injuries were fatal head injuries.

Police chief of Buenos Aires, Alberto Crescenti, said in a statement, “Our job was to get there quickly, give him medical care, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were too severe for life.” “The team saw very serious injuries and what looked like a broken skull.”

At the scene, Payne was pronounced dead.

(“an episode of drug abuse”).

In the patio inside the building where Payne was found, police found a cellphone, a lighter, and a whiskey bottle. His hotel room was also “completely disorganized” and had “many broken items.”

Investigators said the famous person “was going through some kind of substance abuse episode” after finding energy supplements, clonazepam (a drug that slows down the central nervous system), and other over-the-counter medicines in his bags.

The Associated Press says that officials asked for a toxicology test because “prosecutors described Payne’s case as “suspicious,” citing the likelihood that the star had been drinking and using drugs.”

The prosecutor’s office said, “Everything points to the musician being by himself at the time of the fall.” The boyfriend of Payne, Kate Cassidy, went to Horan’s show with him but had already left for Florida without him a few days before.

Even though no one knows what caused the fatal fall, they do know that Payne’s hands were not hurt in any way.

Based on the position of the body when it was found and the injuries it had, the prosecutor’s office thinks that Payne did not automatically take a defensive position. Instead, he may have fallen while partially or completely asleep.

“The party is over.”

The singer celebrated 100 days clean last year, and Payne has talked about his struggles with mental health and drug abuse.

Payne said in 2021, “I feel like I have a better handle on life now. Everything that was getting away from me, I just feel like I have a better handle on it.” In fact, I only needed a short break because I felt like I had changed into someone I didn’t know. Things are going well right now. Those things are no longer at all important for me. There will be no more parties.
