My brother David Wilburn Parton died. He was Dolly’s brother. He was 82 years old.
Stella Parton, the singer’s sister, wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on November 15 that their brother had died.
“My brother David died peacefully this morning,” the 75-year-old man said. “He got his angel wings and is now at peace, but it’s always hard to say goodbye to someone you care about.”
Stella wrote in a second Facebook post, “It’s never easy to lose a loved one.” She also said that her brother had died “in the early hours of the morning.” She wrote on Threads, “My brother David left us this morning.” He was given angel wings after a while. Beautiful soul, rest in peace. “I love you always.”
A death notice on the internet says that David, whose real name was David W. Parton, “passed away at his home” in White Pine, Tennessee, on November 15. It was not said what caused the death.
Dolly, who is 78 years old, hasn’t talked about her brother’s death in public yet.
People have called Stella and Dolly’s managers to get more information.
David worked for Simpson Construction as a supervisor and bridge builder when he died. From what the biography says, he worked in Knoxville, Johnson City, and Kingsport, Tennessee.
The message says, “The family would like to thank Dr. David McNabney, Smoky Mountain Home Health & Hospice, Aubrie Smith, his Cornerstone caregiver, and Robin Schmidt, his caregiver.”
David was the second oldest of 11 children born to Willadeene, Coy, Willadeene, Robert Jr., Freida, 67, and Rachel Parton. Randy, Larry, and Floyd were the three oldest brothers and have died.
While his sisters were popular, David spent his whole life out of the public eye.
He was married to Kay Parton for 45 years and had two daughters, Donna and Dena. In his obituary, Lucas is called a “nephew/son” and he is survived by grandkids and great-grandchildren.
On Tuesday, November 19, the funeral will be held at Leadvale Baptist Church in White Pine. Family and friends are welcome.
It’s been almost four years since David’s brother Randy died of cancer at age 67 in 2021 and six years since his brother Floyd died of cancer in December 2018 at age 61.
Dolly wrote about Randy’s death on Facebook before: “My brother Randy has lost his battle with cancer.” My family and I are still sad about dad’s death, even though we know he is in a better place than we are now.
According to our faith family, we believe that God will protect us and that our departed loved ones are with us and have welcomed him with open arms and joy.
