Women and Pinky Rings: The Empowering Symbol You Need to Know About

Most of the time, we assume that a woman who has a ring on a certain finger is married.

This assumption has been correct for more than one hundred years. However, a new trend is making people question the idea. Women are wearing rings on their pinky fingers, which doesn’t mean they’re engaged.

The pinky ring is a strong sign of freedom and self-empowerment, and it also stands for a promise to love yourself. Do you want to know more about this trend that is growing? We’ll get into all the details, so stay tuned.

Rings for your pinky finger

For a long time, rings have been a quiet but effective way to share feelings or thoughts without words. The most well-known example is the engagement or wedding ring, which shows that a woman has found her true love.

That being said, not all rings are meant to send a message. A lot of people think that rings are just fashion accessories that people choose to show off their style or match an outfit, with no greater meaning.

But seeing a woman with a ring on her little finger could mean more. This style became popular thanks to the jewelry company Fred + Far. It’s part of a movement to value individuality and self-worth no matter what your relationship situation is. More and more people are wearing it as a sign of strength and self-love, which is a good thing.

Melody Godfred, co-founder of Fred + Far, came up with the idea for the pinky ring as a way to remember herself to take care of herself first. In her mind, the ring came to stand for independence and power.

Godfred told “Mental Scoops” that he made the ring for his pinky finger because it’s one that he has never put a ring on before. It is ignored just as much as women are. I felt really strong when I took off my big, flashy engagement ring, which is usually a sign of commitment to someone else, and said, “This time, I’m choosing myself.”

“These two rings don’t go together, and I’m still proud to wear my engagement ring,” she said. Because loving yourself makes it easier to love someone else.

The ring has a stone in the shape of an upside-down triangle to represent the power of the “divine feminine.” Wearing something that shows how much you value yourself, no matter what it is made of or how much it costs, is a beautiful way to honor your uniqueness and moral character.

The History of Pinky Rings

You might be surprised to learn that women have worn finger rings for a very long time. Women in the Victorian era were said to often wear rings on their left pinky finger as a secret way to show that they weren’t married and didn’t want to get married.

Over time, pinky bands have become less important. These days, many people wear them to show that they care about and love themselves, and that they are committed to their health.

The next time you see a woman wearing a pinky ring, you’ll have a better idea of what she might be trying to say. It may be more than just an ornament!
