Thanksgiving turkey with a twist: Our dog wouldn’t stop barking at it so I checked it and called the police

Thanksgiving morning was hectic, to put it politely. My husband took a long time to bring home the Thanksgiving turkey, but there were also pies, mashed potatoes, and a nice cranberry sauce. I was making every effort to prepare everything for the feast.

An hour and a half later, he returned from his visit to the butcher. “Where have you been, Kyle?” I inquired anxiously. However, he merely gave me a brief glance before picking up his phone. He mentioned the lengthy line at the butcher shop. “I’m sorry, Ace.” Mom’s vehicle malfunctioned. “I’m going to go help her and bring her here,” he declared. Kyle bounded out the door before I could ask him any more questions.

During this time, our dog, Max, would not stop barking at the turkey. “No raw meat for you, buddy,” I said, hoping he would understand.

Max continued to be apprehensive around the chickens, and I couldn’t figure out what was bothering him. Even though I had only given him food an hour earlier, I believed he was hungry.

I told him to get out of the kitchen, but he refused to go. His barking became increasingly louder.

I discovered that there was plastic caught inside the turkey when I transported it to another location. I realized that I hadn’t ordered any stuffing, which made it seem strange. When I removed the plastic, I nearly tripped. In my Thanksgiving turkey, I discovered a sack full of money. It had many hundred dollars in value.

At last, I understood why Max was barking so loudly. He wasn’t trained and wasn’t a police dog, but he had senses and smells that I didn’t.

My list of persons to phone to inquire about the money included Kyle’s number. The butcher may have given us the wrong one, I thought. I was worried that we might be in trouble for this, so I called the police.

I was so worried that people would think I was insane that I truly didn’t know where to start. I yelled, “Officer!” “There is money inside my Thanksgiving turkey,” I said to the person on the other end of the phone. They promised to send someone over immediately.

Two police policemen eventually arrived at my door. When I invited them in, they gave me a weird look. “So, ma’am, what seems to be the matter?” one of them inquired.

After my dog continued to bark at the bird, I declared that I had located the money.

In the middle of the journey, officers check a Thanksgiving turkey loaded with cash.

“Where did you get this turkey?” they inquired. My spouse had purchased it in the morning, I informed them.

“Ma’am, this appears to be the most bizarre instance of counterfeit money we have ever seen, so we need to discuss it with your husband.”

“No, no, sir, my husband has nothing to do with this,” I said to keep Kyle safe. “I just purchased this turkey from the butcher.” That’s all.

At that very moment, Kyle and his mother Ruth entered the house and were startled to see the two policemen in the kitchen.

“Kyle!” I shouted. “I found money inside the turkey,” I informed my spouse. Inform the cops that you were not involved in this.

“Yes, Ace, I do,” he responded, scratching his head. “That’s my money.”

“What?” I shouted.

“Yes, honey,” he asked her. I was a little late since I spent all of my savings this morning. “I intended to give you a surprise Hawaii vacation, but I wasn’t sure where to conceal the funds. You won’t see them until I’m prepared to share the wonderful news with you because of this.

Although they need evidence, Ruth assured the authorities that her son was telling the truth. Kyle then produced the withdrawal documents and presented them to the police. He removed exactly the same amount of money from the turkey.

I didn’t think it was humorous at all, but the police did. How would things have turned out if I had baked the bird, Kyle? “Have you not considered that?” I inquired.

“Honestly, no,” he replied. “I now realize it wasn’t a good idea, even though I thought it was at the time.” “Not at all.”

I forgot how terrified I was of Kyle after the police left. The Thanksgiving feast was fantastic. But we had a tale to share with our loved ones.
