Car ownership offers advantages like ease, freedom, and flexibility, but it also has disadvantages.
When your car gets snow on it, or worse, when frost builds up on the windows, it’s a problem that comes up every year and has a few possible solutions.
Despite having tried nearly every advice in the book, I was pleasantly delighted to learn about this technique for clearing the windshield. Why? In addition to being reasonably priced, it’s also quite easy!
It’s definitely not the most enjoyable way to start the day to scrape ice off your windshield. Even while the winter landscape is beautiful, your car may not always enjoy it.
The quickest way to ruin a morning is to deal with a frozen windshield. Now you have to contend with a foggy, frozen window that takes ages to clear, on top of being late. Isn’t it one of those tiresome, annoying tasks that only makes things more stressful?
Thankfully, I’ve found a trick that could make a big difference in the lives of people who, like me, are afraid of scraping the windshield.
Defrost car windows quickly.
Water and rubbing alcohol are the only two fundamental components needed for this process. You read correctly—it’s that easy to work some magic!
To use it whenever you need to, just fill a spray bottle with a mixture of one-third water and two-thirds rubbing alcohol, then keep it in your car.

This less expensive method usually works just as well as the many costly chemicals that are available to spray ice and snow off your windshield.
Why is it so successful? Alcohol has a far lower freezing point than water (-128°F), therefore rubbing it helps melt the ice faster and avoids windshield icing in the future.
How to prevent freezing in your vehicle
If you don’t have a garage and want to prevent frost from building up in the first place, there is another good option. If you have it at home, it can’t hurt to try, even though it’s a little unusual.
Think about using kitty litter. What you read is accurate! If you put a sock stuffed with cat litter on your dashboard, it will absorb any moisture and prevent your windshield from freezing.
Share this technique with others if you’ve tried it and find it works well so they can see how easy it is to clear the frost from their windshield! We can all have a somewhat less stressful morning if we work together.
