Courtney Love plans to make the move permanent after living in London for five years. In six months, the former Hole singer will be ready to apply for British citizenship. The artist also appeared happy at the chance to relocate as US political tensions increase.
She talked to Todd Almond at London’s Geographical Society earlier this month about his new oral history, Slow Train Coming: Bob Dylan’s Girl from the North Country and Broadway’s Rebirth. She also performed Dylan’s “Like a Rolling Stone” at the event.
As they conversed, she spoke enthusiastically about her life in London. “I’m so glad to be here. Living here is an amazing experience. I will ultimately be granted British citizenship in six months. I’ve been granted citizenship. I’m applying, man! According to reports, she stated, “It’s impossible to get rid of me.”
Even though she did not explicitly say that the action was a direct result of President Donald Trump’s inauguration, she has previously been vocal about her distaste for the politician. She had even referred to the current situation as “frightening” and characterized his politics as “emperor-core.”
