However, the crew of Cunard’s Queen Anne were in for a terrible surprise when they learned that they would have to adhere to strict regulations for a terrifying reason during a portion of their voyage.

When passengers on Cunard’s Queen Anne cruise ship were told to turn out all lights and cover all drapes for their own safety during the ship’s first trip, they were a little surprised.
The massive, luxurious vessel is cruising the globe. The 111-night journey, which started in Germany, recently traveled via the waters of Darwin, Australia, Manila, the Philippines, and the Sulu-Celebes Sea.
The captain of the ship made the unexpected announcement. The guests were told by the ship’s captain that they would be operating at a “heightened level of security alertness.” This resulted from the ship passing through an area that was prone to piracy.
Only the lights required for the open deck were to be on, and the external promenade decks were to be shuttered for the night in order to lessen the ship’s visibility to others. Visitors were instructed to keep their curtains drawn and to turn off the lights in their staterooms when not in use in order to reduce the likelihood of getting caught.
In a video that went viral, people responded to how frightening the sentence sounded. In another TikTok video, a cruise ship passenger showed that the ship has security guards and guns to stop any possible threats.
Whether there is a substantial risk of a pirate attack on a cruise liner is still up for debate. A spokesman for the cruise firm Cunard retorted that it was all standard practice. “As part of standard maritime procedures, our Captains may make precautionary announcements when sailing through certain regions,” they said.
They clarified, “Our experience aboard remained unhindered, and the ship and its passengers were not in any particular danger.”
