When Ryley took the stage on The Voice, the coaches had no idea that they were about to witness something incredible. All four coaches were shocked by Ryley’s performance, especially after finding out how old he was. The first person to press her button was Kelly Clarkson, who was immediately followed by Niall Horan.
“I heard nothing after fifteen!” Kelly shouted out, still processing what she had just heard. “At fifteen, you sound like that?”
Niall was overcome with admiration as he thought back to his own teenage X Factor audition. “That was by far the best audition we’ve heard,” he added.
Chance the Rapper, who was equally thrilled, praised Ryley’s flawless vocal runs and likened his style to experimental R&B artists like Steve Lacy. “I would love to see what you could do in that space,” he continued as part of his proposition.
Blake Shelton, who was giving it his all for his final season, followed. Using his characteristic sense of humor, he presented an offer that had never been heard by any contender before:
When he added, “You chose me to be your coach, and I will step down after this season,” the crowd burst out laughing. “I’m heading out. I will be happy that I was able to work with you, Ryley.
