American Idol Season 23 star John Foster is speaking directly to fans after several untrue stories about him began to spread online. The 18-year-old Louisiana native addressed everything from his age and place of origin to rumors of a record deal with country music legend Dwight Yoakam in an honest and enlightening Facebook post in response to baseless accusations.
“Permit me to update the record.” Foster’s Correspondence with Advocates
Foster stated, “To help all of my family (followers) get to know me better, I would like to address some false information that has been circulating on Facebook.”
Among other things, Foster’s note mentioned that he is not twenty-four.He’s eighteen.He is not from Benton, Kentucky.He is a proud Addis, Louisiana, native.
He said that, despite Kentucky being on his list of locations to visit, “I’ve never even been there.”
Most importantly, Foster debunked a myth that had gained popularity among fans of country music: that he had a Sugar Hill Records contract with Dwight Yoakam.
“There was some false information that Dwight Yoakam signed me to Sugar Hill Records,” he wrote. “That is simply not true.”
Foster advises followers to only trust reliable sources.
As he concluded his letter, Foster asked his growing fan base to trust only updates from his official page, which is indicated by a blue checkmark. He invited followers to communicate with him directly:
