When my son told us about strange noises coming from behind the mirror in his room, we didn’t believe him until one day we checked and found something terrible😨😱

My five-year-old son has been acting a little strangely lately. Every little sound made him nervous and afraid, especially at night. I thought it was just his age—a phase, sensitivity, or imagination, maybe. It happens to all kids.

But it became worse every day. He would wake up in the middle of the night, wail, and run into our bedroom while repeating the same phrase:

I can hear them. They are murmuring. There’s someone here.

I first joked with my husband about it. Then we tried to calm him down. I embraced him, gave him a head pat, and said:

It’s just a dream, sweetheart. There’s no one here. We looked.

For his comfort, we checked the entire room multiple times, including under the bed, in the closet, behind the curtains, and of course, behind the big mirror on the wall. Nothing.

But yesterday, everything was different.

My husband and I were in the living room watching a movie. It was quiet and serene. With his face contorted in fear, his lips trembling, and tears streaming down his cheeks, our son exploded in, shouting:

— He’s back! He’s behind the mirror! The beast! I hear him!

My spouse answered, “Son, we have talked about this.”

— Leave him alone! He’s here! I hear him hissing!

My spouse groaned deeply and stood up. I accompanied him. In the son’s room, there was quiet. Too quiet. There wasn’t much tension in the air.

Our son pointed to the mirror and said, “There.” – He is there.

We got nearer. looked. Keep quiet. I did think the mirror could have moved a bit, though, at one point. Very faintly, as if a little breeze had blown past. My spouse came running forward and ripped the mirror from the wall.

And at that precise instant, we both yelled.

Behind the mirror, between the wall and the drywall, a huge black snake slithered.

Its scales made a soft ruffle on the concrete. That was the sound my son had heard. He was being honest. He felt it.

We immediately called the rescuers. The reptile could only be taken down from the wall by the experts. By chance, it had slithered up from the basement and settled itself in the narrow space between the wall and the paneling, right where the mirror was hanging.

Now the mirror has been removed. The wall has been fixed. And as a mother, I reached a significant realization:

I will always believe in my son. even when talking about monsters. Youngsters are able to notice things that adults would like not to.
