The police found something terrible after a girl called the emergency services to report hearing strange noises beneath her bed 
A strange call came in for 911. There was a 5-year-old girl named Mia involved. She looked scared and spoke in a whisper.
Please come. Something is whispering under my bed. “I hear them, I’m very scared,” she said, her voice trembling.
Where are your parents, Mia?
They don’t believe me to be real. They claim I’m making it all up. I can hear it, though. At this moment… I hear it again.
This call scared the operator, who had worked in emergency services for twelve years. Without question, the girl wasn’t lying or joking.
– The police will be sent out immediately. Keep on the line, please.
Ten minutes later, officers reached the remote home. The shocked parents opened the door.
— What happened? “Did Mia make something up again?” said the father, glancing at his wife.
“We’re just going to check,” the sergeant stated. — Can we go inside?
Mia sat in a corner of her room, clutching her teddy bear. Her eyes were watering. She pointed silently to her small bed with the pink quilt.
“The voices come from there,” she added.
A policeman stooped to look under the bed. There was dust and a few toys that had fallen, nothing strange.
“There’s nothing here,” he said, getting to his feet. — It seems that someone has a really vivid imagination. The parents will receive a warning for making a false call.
Another police officer said, “Wait!” and raised his hand suddenly. – Keep quiet. No sound is coming from anybody.
The place fell into a dreadful quiet. Even the parents froze in the hallway. A minute passed, followed by a half-minute. Then everyone heard the sound Mia had described about the little child. They looked under the bed again and saw something terrible.
But then again. A soft, unintelligible whisper. But it wasn’t a voice. A sound was heard. like metal scratching, muffled by the earth.
Someone was excavating, it seemed.
The officer knelt down and began to knock on the floor. In one area, there was a dull sound. The cops quickly lifted a tiny piece of the parquet and found a thin layer of earth underneath.
After getting a shovel from the garage, they began digging. and a few centimeters later they hit a metal lid. Below, there was a tunnel.
They asked for help. After two hours, it was discovered that the house and surrounding lots were connected by a vast network of tunnels.
In preparation for an escape abroad, three fugitives—former prisoners who had been hidden for months—were digging right under the city.
Little Mia could still hear them even though they used sophisticated equipment to try to work silently at night.
The girl’s call resulted in their capture. Since then, Mia has been getting good sleep.
