Jessica and Adam have been together since school, but Adam’s mother has never really accepted her. Despite her best efforts, she was unable to keep them apart.
Adam was in love with Jessica at first sight, so he disregarded his mother’s objections. They decided to be married after working together to overcome many challenges.
On their wedding day, Jessica made a toast to her future mother-in-law. Her comments were so distressing that Adam’s mother fled the wedding.
Adam’s mother was always saying that he was too young and that Jessica wasn’t the most stunning woman he would meet.
Adam seldom gave Jessica much attention, but she was always aware of the conversations between Adam and his mother.
On the day of the wedding, she thus gave the following toast:
“I’d like to raise this glass to your health.
I have a lot to repay you.
You did all in your power to destroy our relationship.
At our wedding, you even wore a white dress.
Fortunately, despite everything you’ve done, our love has only grown stronger.
I’m grateful for that, then.
The visitors listened in silence until Jessica finished, at which point they discovered Adam’s mother had left the room.
After this toast, she realized that true love is unbreakable and felt ashamed of what she had done.
