The twin twins, who weighed 586 and 604 pounds respectively, have shed a significant amount of weight

Urgent action was needed before their situation became even more dangerous.

Kandi and Brandi had been using food as a way to cope with stress since they were very young. Growing up, they often felt ignored by their parents and turned to sweets for comfort. As they got older, their mother and father relied heavily on fast food, using it as an easy way to keep the girls busy and out of the way while they focused on their own lives.

Of course, this unhealthy pattern came with serious consequences. The first real problems began at school, where the sisters were cruelly bullied. By their teenage years, each of them weighed over 220 pounds — and the most frightening part was that their weight only continued to climb.

Eventually, Kandi and Brandi’s relationship with their parents broke down, and they moved out to start fresh. Unfortunately, leaving home didn’t change their eating habits.

To survive, the sisters found work as sales representatives, but they still relied on the same unhealthy foods—fast food, candy, and sugary drinks. Their weight made everyday life harder and harder, and eventually it even began interfering with their ability to work and function normally.

Before long, serious health issues appeared.

When both sisters passed 550 pounds, they knew they couldn’t handle it alone anymore. That’s when they turned to the well-known TV program My 600-Lb Life for help.

What followed was a long, painful, and emotional journey toward recovery. They were supported by top specialists: a dietitian helped them build a structured meal plan, and therapists worked with them on the deeper emotional reasons behind their eating. Over time, each sister set weight-loss goals and slowly began to see progress.

But their condition was so severe that doctors eventually recommended weight-loss surgery to reduce their stomach size. Brandi handled the operation successfully, but Kandi nearly lost her life due to complications caused by her heart. Thankfully, she pulled through.

Although the show has ended, the sisters continue to focus on their health, staying active at the gym and following healthier diets. Brandi even found happiness in her personal life—she fell in love, got married, and became a mother.

Kandi, however, isn’t rushing into marriage. Instead, she wants to travel, explore the world, and fully enjoy the second chance at life she fought so hard to earn.
