Shaquira McGrath from Kennesaw, Georgia, works as a server at the Atlanta Braves stadium. She sings to tables on birthdays and puts on little concerts in the back with the cooks, so music is part of every shift.
For years she held back, because people told her she sounded amazing but could be a little thinner or a little taller. On the America’s Got Talent stage she finally let go, belting out the country anthem “Redneck Woman” with a big, confident voice. 🎶
The response was huge. Sofia Vergara said she loved it, Simon Cowell told her she had a genuinely great voice and that the people who doubted her did not know what they were talking about, and the votes came in as yeses.
Fighting back emotion, Shaquira said this was the moment she had pictured while singing alone in her bathroom. After 25 years of doubt, she had finally shown everyone what she could do. ❤️
