This Farm Boy Turned I Will Survive Into Something the Judges Never Expected

Tim Rosington singer with guitar

Tim Rosington grew up on a farm near Glen Innes in New South Wales, the youngest of seven children. His dad played guitar at home, and the family sing-alongs gave him his love of music. At 24 he was paying his way through uni by playing at pubs, bars and weddings.

On The X Factor Australia stage in Sydney he picked up his guitar and chose a song nobody saw coming, the disco classic “I Will Survive”. He gave it his own relaxed acoustic feel, and the crowd was soon cheering him on. 🎶

The judges loved his vibe. One said he wanted to go to the pub the next time Tim played, and another joked about what they must be putting in the drinks there. Tim walked away with four yeses and a ticket to boot camp.

Before the audition he said he felt like a tiny ant in the big city, but that some ants can fly. On this day, the country boy from the farm did exactly that. ❤️
