When people observed an emaciated dog emerge from the forest with the plastic bag in her mouth, they were horrified by what they saw when they unzipped it.

On that chilly evening, the hamlet seemed to hold its breath. The sky was low and gray, the leaves rustled underfoot, and the air smelled like chimney smoke. People hurried home, ignoring the noises from the bushes on the side of the road. But suddenly someone shouted:

— Look! A dog!

Out of the forest came a thin, very exhausted dog. Her ribs were shown one by one, her fur hung in patches, and her eyes were filled with pleading and sadness. She put a plastic bag in her mouth gently. Rather than growling or running away, she appeared to be begging for help.

When a woman from the adjacent house came near the dog, it would not leave. She gingerly placed the bag down and moaned a little, glancing around at the others as if she was afraid they may misunderstand her.

And the woman said, “What is this?

As she unzipped the bag, she cried out in horror.

In close quarters were three tiny, trembling pups. Curled up, blind, seeking warmth.

The dog cried softly, stretched out beside them, and gave them anything she had, including her dried-up nipples.

She just ate the leaves, acorns, and bark she could find because there wasn’t much food in the forest. She did her best for her pups.

She lived alone in the woods. Nobody knew how long she had been on the run or how many nights she had curled up shielding her puppies from the wind.

Today, however, she was weaker. She understood that if she didn’t turn to people, none of them would survive. That’s why she came out. as a last option.

The woman took up the puppies and cuddled them to her bosom while another person placed a bowl of water and leftover soup in front of the mother dog.

Not because she was scared, but because she was weak, she ate carefully and took breaks. She waggled her tail a little. She understood that this was safety.

Later, they were all taken to a shelter. The puppies were loved, fed, and developed into healthy adults.
