Brian Wilson On Round-The-Clock Supervision Amid Worsening Dementia Battle

Co-founder of The Beach Boys Brian Wilson has been under conservatorship with publicist Jean Sievers and business manager LeeAnn Hard for the last six months. Even though he is in good hands, current reports say that medical personnel are now monitoring Brian closely at his Beverly Hills residence around-the-clock.

Recent court filings by Hard and Jean revealed that Brian is receiving care from a team of full-time nurses and caregivers who put in endless hours to regularly bring him meals and prescription medications. The musician has become less comprehensible as a result of his inability to understand and respond to discussions as he usually would.

It was determined that Brian needed to be in the care of someone similarly capable after Melinda Ledbetter, his wife and primary caregiver, passed away earlier this year. The court selected his trustworthy friends to take care of Brian. Jean and Hard.

It was said that shortly after losing his sweetheart, Brian’s mental stability declined. Because of this, it was imperative that he be placed under conservatorship immediately, since he was unable to care for himself. Hard is a trustee of Brian’s estate and is not bound by the guardians’ control.

Brian’s unstable mental state

Because of his early battles with mental illness, Brian became a more creative but quiet member of the Beach Boys. His unique talent, however, would not let him stay hidden for long. He was mistreated medically by his longtime doctor, Eugene Landy, who purposely overmedicated him for years. He also turned to drugs, alcohol, and overindulgence in food, which led to the development of schizoaffective disorder in his early years.

Brian revealed that he used to hear voices criticizing him nonstop in a 2006 interview with Ability. But in the end, he was able to locate a psychologist who helped him heal and gave him easy access to cease taking drugs. A big part of his recovery was also Melinda’s guarantee that he was secure and getting good medical treatment.
