Mother gives 4-year-old daughter bag of food from Burger King then hears ‘Mom, I don’t want ketchup’

Tiffany Floyd stopped by a Burger King drive-thru near her Western New York home with her four-year-old daughter to grab a fast bite to eat.

It was supposed to be a hassle-free treat, but after her daughter complained about her child’s lunch having “ketchup,” things became worse.

Floyd posted, “I went to Burger King by my house today,” on TikTok.

She related how, shortly after giving her daughter the kid’s dinner, she heard her declare, “Mom, I don’t want ketchup.”

“I take the bag back, thinking they messed up our order,” replies Floyd. “And when I look inside her bag, I see blood everywhere.”

Floyd told People that until her child ate a few French fries and bit into her cheeseburger, she didn’t realize there was “ketchup” on her plate.

Floyd thought it was ketchup too for a while before he realized it was blood.

She immediately phoned the fast-food establishment to speak with the manager, who informed her that one of the employees had recently cut their hand before bagging her food.

Floyd added, “He was so nonchalant at this point and I was livid,” in reference to the manager who had guaranteed him a refund if he returned to the store.

Floyd discovered that not much could be done and so she also filed a report with her local health office.

Burger King informed People that it had temporarily closed its Gettzville location, the site of the incident, so that employees could undergo extensive cleanings and retraining.

Floyd remains “distraught” over the incident even after the fast-food chain retrained employees on certain protocols and cleaned the space.

Her daughter is required to undergo blood testing “every month,” and she refuses to eat anything because she fears it may contain blood.

Floyd hopes that her TikTok video, which has amassed over six million views, will serve as a public service announcement for individuals who visited the Gettzville restaurant on July 27 and for anybody else who would grab into a fast food bag and eat without looking.

“You just open the bag and dig in without even opening it when you get food from a drive-through.” All I ask is that the other attendees check to see whether they too consumed it.

I never knew that I should be looking at my meal a little closer before I take a bite out of it.
