It is simply horrifying how nasty some people can be to animals. Recently, a sad puppy was found with his entire head wrapped in duct tape.
The narrative has a happy conclusion despite the horrific scene:
On April 15, the Nebraska Humane Society published the shocking story. Someone heard an animal inside a dumpster and phoned Animal Control; she was shocked to find that it was a dog after initially thinking it was a raccoon.
The dog was in amazing condition; his head and tail were entirely covered in duct tape, and his legs were chained together. Reports also surfaced of “food and other debris caked in his fur.”
“I have never seen anything like it,” responding staff member Kevin Wiederin told KETV. The entire muzzle was wrapped, and it was simply sitting there with its front and back paws taped together. Additionally, tape was used to hide the eyes.

He went on, “I’ve never seen anything so disgusting. I felt completely nauseous.” “It is inconceivable to harm a living being, much less a helpless little dog, and then throw it away like trash.”
He was fortunate to be discovered in time because, according to NHS, 30 minutes after Animal Control picked up the phone, a truck pulled up and unloaded the bin.
The puppy was sent to the Nebraska Humane Society. After putting him under anesthesia, the team started to remove the tape. They had to shave his fur to remove all the grime.
They wrote on Facebook that although the dog had minor skin irritation, he was “perked up and was wagging his tail” and was “otherwise healthy and seemed to be in good spirits despite his condition.”
Thankfully, the team removed the tape and found a microchip. Leo was the dog’s name, and he had disappeared a few days prior.
Leo’s owner, Erin Dillon-Pasillas, says the dog ran away from the house when she was taking her son to school. She had been in a panic for days, calling shelters about her lost cat.
“Daily demands increased… “It was just crickets,” she told KETV. I was shaking as I called them. You know, “Please be my dog, please be my dog.”

Despite her sadness for dear Leo, Erin was relieved to have her puppy back. “He is the cutest puppy ever! “I don’t understand why anyone would do this,” she said to NHS.
When Leo gets over the event, Erin promised to give him a good bath and a veterinarian checkup.
It’s unclear who did this to Leo. NHS claims that there are no cameras around the bin where Leo was found. They encourage anyone with information to contact Animal Services at 402-444-7800, and they are offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Although we’re glad Leo is safe and back at home, it’s terrible to witness someone duct-taping an adorable dog like that. We hope the offender is caught and brought to justice.
