The dog leaped to his feet and started licking his owner’s face, pawing at his chest, and complaining, shocking the doctors when they entered the room 
The old man had been languishing in the hospital room for three months now. Following a severe stroke, the physicians shrugged and said, “The prognosis is extremely poor.” No words, no movement. The body’s condition is declining. He appeared to be imprisoned inside his own body, with his eyes largely closed and his respiration barely perceptible.
The only person who seemed to believe he was still “there” was Ralph, his dog.
Every minute of every day, he lay by the bed. Sometimes he just stared at his master, and other times he cried gently. He was in the hospital all the time. He was already considered a member of room 214 by everyone, and nurses provided him with food and water.
But one morning, everything was different.
At first, it seemed too quiet. The monitors, which frequently clicked and beeped, also grew silent. Ralph raised his head. For a moment, he just stared at his owner’s face. Then, without warning, he jumped onto the bed.
He began licking the old man’s face as if he were possessed. He yanked the sheet and pawed at his chest, whining like never before. He pretended to be aware of the issue. There was something happening. When the doctors entered the room, they were shocked by what they saw 
Then the device triggered an alert. The screen blinked. Breathing faltered. After a second, it issued a warning signal. The doctors came quickly into the room. One of them murmured as they looked at the readings:
If it had continued for another minute, we would have lost him. complete respiratory arrest when in bed. It was originally seen by the dog.
The old man was hooked up to a ventilator. After a day, he regained consciousness. He opened his eyes weakly yet deliberately. The first thing he noticed was Ralph.
The experts eventually determined that the man had a second, concealed episode of respiratory failure.
Unnoticed and silent. Sometimes people simply “do not wake up.” If Ralph hadn’t taken it, the physicians’ timely action would have been useless.
With difficulty, the elderly man added, “He saved my life,” weeks later. — Again.
