Two Old College Rivals From New Orleans Turned the AGT Stage Into an Opera House

Acte II opera duo Olanna Goudeau and Ashley Renee Watkins

Olanna Goudeau and Ashley Renée Watkins met in college in New Orleans, and they admit they did not like each other very much back then. Years later they walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage together as the duo Acte II, still teasing each other backstage.

Nobody in the room knew what was coming. Then the two sopranos began the Flower Duet from the opera Lakmé, and their voices filled the whole theater 🎶

The judges were stunned. One of them said it was the last thing he expected and that the hair on his arms stood up. Heidi said it felt like the soundtrack to a beautiful movie, and Howard said they had turned the theater into an opera house.

All four judges said yes. The two former rivals who once could not stand each other left the stage as friends with a shared dream, one step closer to the million dollars ❤️
