When the thieves tried to rob the home of a lonely elderly widow, they were met with a horrible surprise.
The crooks had been closely monitoring the neighborhood for days. They observed everyone’s actions, recording when the lights came on and off as well as who entered and left. The ancient, peeling house at the end of the street with fading blue window frames was their clear target. Not many knew there was an elderly woman living there. But the robbers had extensive information.
The neighbors had foolishly revealed that the old widow had a son who lived far away but sent her money every month. Because she didn’t trust banks, she hid the bills under her mattress. “Old school,” they said. The last straw was that it was too easy a target.
At night, the burglars entered the house wearing gloves and black masks. They didn’t want to take a chance because the door made a lot of noise. Their choice was to enter through an old window which, from what they could see, had not been properly sealed for a long time. The break-in just took a few minutes. Everything was going according to plan.
But right as they climbed inside, they noticed something strange, and they deeply felt bad about what they had done.
Even though the home was dark, as it should be at night, there was some movement in the center of the hallway. One stopped, looked closely, and froze. He could see eyes staring at him from the shadows. Big, calm, confident. It is not a human being.
In the next second, everything happened far too rapidly.
A huge Alabai was snarling fiercely and jumping at them from the passageway. The dog raced across the wooden floor with incredible speed and was at the window in a matter of seconds. While one of the bandits ran but stumbled, the other was unable to react in time and fell backward.
The boom woke the old woman, but she didn’t panic. She grabbed the phone and dialed the police. Yes, I have thieves. “But don’t worry, the dog is already dealing with them,” she said coolly into the phone.
By the time the patrol arrived, one burglar was lying on the ground with a torn leg, and the other was sitting in a corner against the wall, too scared to move.
The enormous Alabai silently stood between them like a guardian, yet every look told them the same thing: take another step and you’ll regret it.
After her father passed away, it was later found that she had received this dog from her son, an officer at a cynological clinic. “Mom, let him keep you safe,” he continued. And the dog fulfilled the trust.
The events that followed shocked even the cops. They expected to see a scared old woman, but instead they saw a calm hostess serving tea to the police while the strong and loyal Alabai, the night’s hero, was at her feet.
