Putri Ariani was 17 and visiting America for the very first time when she came to the America’s Got Talent stage in 2023. The blind teenager from Indonesia told the judges she hoped to become one of the biggest singers in the world and dreamed of studying at Juilliard.

She sat at the piano and sang a song she had written herself, moving smoothly between her chest voice and head voice. Then Simon Cowell surprised everyone by asking for a second song, and she chose Elton John’s “Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word”. 🎶

The judges were amazed, even more so when they learned the first song was her own original. Simon then gave her his Golden Buzzer, sending her straight to the live shows.

For a young singer with such a big dream, it was the perfect start. Putri showed that talent and courage can shine brighter than any obstacle. ❤️
