Dani Kerr, a singer-songwriter from Statesville, North Carolina, walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage with a guitar and a simple message. She said too many people in music have stopped being real, and she wanted to remind everyone that songs still come from human hearts.
She started with one of her own songs, but Simon Cowell stopped her partway through. He said he could tell how nervous she was and how much the moment meant to her, then asked if she had brought another song. She had, and she followed it with November, another original. This time her warm, raw voice filled the room. 🎶
The judges compared her to Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus. They called her a great writer with a beautiful, distinctive voice, and one judge said she was one of the favorite voices of the year.
When Howie gave the final vote, Dani had four yeses and said she felt like she was walking on clouds. ❤️
